I use this sauce to enhance pound cake or angel cake - it's just sooo delicious! Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup (375 ml) maple syrup
- 1 cup (250 ml) heavy whipping cream (35% fat)
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) melted butter (or margarine)
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) all-purpose flour
Steps:
- Bring maple syrup and cream to boil in large saucepan, mixing regularly to avoid burning
- Mix thoroughly flour and butter
- Add gradually flour mix to maple syrup, while stirring maple sauce
- Stir until thickened
Serve lukewarm atop pound cake, and enjoy!
