Maple Sauce

I use this sauce to enhance pound cake or angel cake - it's just sooo delicious! Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup (375 ml) maple syrup
  • 1 cup (250 ml) heavy whipping cream (35% fat)
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) melted butter (or margarine)
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) all-purpose flour

Steps:

  1. Bring maple syrup and cream to boil in large saucepan, mixing regularly to avoid burning
  2. Mix thoroughly flour and butter
  3. Add gradually flour mix to maple syrup, while stirring maple sauce
  4. Stir until thickened

Serve lukewarm atop pound cake, and enjoy!
